GUIDE + INSTRUCTOR + PRESIDENT
Nick Proulx
Thirty years ago I picked up my first flyrod and haven’t looked back since. I didn’t know it then, but fly fishing was, has been, and always will be a very big part of my life. The mentors that I had growing up played a big role in my life, and I want to pay it forward. Having the opportunity to teach and introduce someone to this amazing sport is an absolute honor for me.

Fly Fishing for me is like hitting the reset button in my mind. It doesn’t matter what kind of day or week I’m having or what thought or worry may be trying to grab my attention. Once I approach the bank and start dissecting the river, it’s game on and everything else melts away. I turn into little kid again, on an adventure searching for what might be lurking beneath the depths. It’s that pursuit of the unknown and the possibility of what could be that reinvigorates me and I’m grateful to the Lord above that I’m able to experience this as often as I do. Cheers!
GUIDE + OWNER OF VASSAR FLY GUIDE
Nicole Vassar
I love everything about fly fishing – hiking through the woods, tying and choosing the right fly, setting up the line and leader, casting techniques, tactics, and feeling or seeing that initial tug. And of course, scooping that fish into the basket. There is something special that happens when immersed in the natural world. It feels simple and complex at the same time. The world slows down and speeds up with a rhythm that accompanies the sounds of the water and wilderness. When I'm on the water, I feel like I'm exactly where I want to be.
