Educational opportunities we offer
FLY FISHING SCHOOL
*2027 Dates to be determined.
2 DAYS | Open registration for First Responders
Our schools stand out with decades of fly fishing experience at your disposal. This school is designed for beginners.
Your first day of teaching includes proper gear setups, casting, river etiquette, reading water, entomology, proper handling of fish, catch and release and safety on the water.
The second day of guiding allows you to connect what you have learned and apply it on the water.
Majority of your learning will be outdoors - the river is your classroom and you put into practice the skills we teach in real-time. We want you to walk away competent and confident with the instruction given.
Clinics are limited to 8 students for a 1:2 guide/student ratio. A detailed itinerary will be sent to you prior to class.
*This class includes meals, instruction and gear if needed. Lodging and NH fishing license is not included.
FLY TYING CLASSES
*2027 Dates to be determined.
4-6 HOURS | Open to general public
Fly tying can be intimidating but it doesn’t have to be! This class will cover all the basics and then some when starting out.
We understand walking into a fly shop for the first time can be overwhelming. We are always thinking on a budget, there are things you want and things you need when starting out. Not only will you have the opportunity to tie flies, but you will walk away with an understanding of the basic materials used, and a list of tools you will need to get started.
*All materials will be provided, if you have tools to use, you can bring them. Clinics are limited to 8 students.
ONE DAY CLINICS
*2027 Dates to be determined.
8 HOURS | Open registration for First Responders
Clinics are designed for intermediate through advanced level anglers looking to sharpen specific skills beyond the basics, focusing on specific techniques and tactics that you can take to the river and apply on a daily basis.
We will be offering the following clinics:
Nymphing clinic - We all love to watch a fish come up and sip a dry fly off the surface, or watch a large trout turn and attack a streamer, but more then 80 percent of a trouts diet is below the surface.
This day class will cover all the techniques used when fishing nymphs.
We will go over in depth reading water hydraulics, entomology, leader selections and formulas, sink raters of flies, pros and cons of both indicators, and tight lines, rod/reel selections.
Streamers clinic - One of the most heart pounding yet demanding moments is when you can trigger a large fish to turn and take a large fly.
This class is designed to help identify where large fish live, when they feed, and what triggers them to eat. Along with that we will break down specific skills needed to be more productive when targeting larger fish. Some of the topics covered but not limited to are casting sink tip/full sink lines, fly selections, retrieval techniques, line management, fly drifts and reading water.
Dry fly clinic - Probably one of the most challenging yet most satisfying moments is watching a fish come up and sip a dry fly off the surface. Having a true understanding of where the fish is feeding in the column, what they are feeding on, and how to present to them with a drag free drift is as important as the fly selection itself. This class will help do just that.
We will cover leader formulas, line management, drag free drifts, how to approach and present to rising fish, entomology, and casting with longer leaders to name a few topics.
Clinics are limited to 8 students max for a 1:2 guide/student ratio. Students are encouraged to bring their own gear, however gear can be provided if needed.
*This class provides meals, instruction and gear if needed. NH fishing license is required and will need to be obtained prior to class. Lodging is not included. A detailed itinerary will be sent to you prior to class.
